Energy Consumers Balk at Utility Revenue Protections

National organizations representing energy consumers — large and small — urged Congress Monday not to mandate a national approach to push more energy-saving measures. Milder Forecasts, Screen Dip Depress Most Points

Expectations of rising temperatures in the western half of the South, Midcontinent and Rockies combined with the previous day’s 8.9-cent drop by February futures to push prices lower in most of the cash market Wednesday. The prompt-month contract recorded a high of $12.034 just after noon EDT, which triggered a round of selling that left June to finish the day’s regular session at $11.801, down 5.6 cents from Friday’s close.
