Burlington Eyes 3-8% Production Growth in ’05

Burlington Resources Inc. CEO Bobby Shackouls said Tuesday the company’s long-term project inventory had risen to 7 Tcfe of potential, with at least five years of drilling and development work at current activity levels. The company’s “growth goal” is 3-8% this year, which “could extend into 2006,” he said.

Deepwater Holstein Project Ramps Up in GOM

Oil and natural gas production from the Gulf of Mexico Holstein spar ramped up last week, according to BP plc, the 50% owner and operator. At peak production, the facility will produce more than 100,000 bbl of oil and 90 MMcf/d of natural gas.

The project would be capable of delivering gas to both U.S. and Mexican markets and to a proposed storage facility that Tidelands is planning in the Brasil Field in northeastern Mexico’s Burgos Basin.
