Williams Powers Up Service to Expanded State Line Plant

The newly expanded State Line Power Plant near Joplin, MO got a boost to its service last week, as a unit of Williams began natural gas transportation service on Friday to the plant. Williams recently completed a $19.7 million expansion of its Central pipeline system, adding 37 miles of 20-inch pipeline and an increased pressure rating of 16-inch line to nearby Oklahoma.

El Paso’s Somerhalder Says Frontier, LNG Key

Normal temperatures have returned to North America, but naturalgas usage, which powers nearly three quarters of the continent,remains high, said El Paso Corp.’s John Somerhalder II, who made itclear that the market will continue to grow at a rapid rate — buthe muddied his forecast by questioning where the gas would befound, calling the “challenges more severe than we anticipated.”
