FERC has issued favorable environmental reviews for Northwest Pipeline’s Sundance Trail Expansion Project in Colorado and Wyoming, and Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line’s (Transco) project in New Jersey.

Following its August hiatus, FERC last Thursday approved three expansions — for Midcontinent Express Pipeline (MEP), Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line (Transco) and Mississippi Hub LLC. The proposed facilities would give shale gas producers and liquefied natural gas (LNG) importers greater access to natural gas markets along the East Coast and in the Northeast.

Over the strong protests of a Washington, DC-based utility, FERC Thursday approved Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line’s (Transco) proposal to construct two bidirectional interconnections to receive regasified liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the proposed Elba Express pipeline system.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has approved Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line’s (Transco) proposal to expand its natural gas pipeline by 308,500 Dth/d to serve growing markets in the southeastern region.

Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line (Transco) and Florida Gas Transmission (FGT) have filed an application with FERC to build a pipeline to connect Transco’s Mobile Bay Lateral with a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal being developed in Pascagoula, MS.

Williams’ Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Co. (Transco) faces penalties and up to $952,500 in fines following an investigation into a pipeline rupture and fire in September 2008 near Appomattox, VA, the Department of Transportation (DOT) said this week.

Williams has completed a successful binding open season for its proposed Northeast Supply Project, which would expand the Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line (Transco) from Station 195 in York County, PA, to delivery points in Zone 6. An open season was launched in June for the project, which would expand Transco’s existing system with the addition of the Rockaway Delivery Lateral (see NGI, June 29). According to open season results, shippers for the Northeast Connector executed firm precedent agreements for 100,000 Dth/d, and Rockaway Delivery Lateral shippers executed firm precedent agreements for 647,000 Dth/d, Williams said. The project could be available for service beginning late 2012, subject to approval by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Williams’ Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Co. LLC (Transco) is holding a nonbinding open season through Aug. 19 for an expansion designed to provide increased capacity to serve markets in the southeastern United States, the pipeline said Thursday.
