Gas Futures Put in Phenomenal Week, Reach $4.160 Friday

Despite a substantial 16-cent range, the futures market postedits smallest daily move of the entire week on Friday with July onlymanaging a 2.7 cent gain to end the regular trading session at$4.160. August rose 3.5 cents to $4.140. The 12-month strip inchedup to $3.938.

Analyst Says $2 Gas Prices ‘In Rear View Mirror’

Natural gas prices are going to jump; the only question is — how high? Calling the rising natural gas demand “phenomenal” both now and into the foreseeable future, Simmons and & Co. International vice president David Pursell said prices are trending upward, and predicted that natural gas is poised to gain a “good proportion” of the demand group.
