Northeast citygates peaked above $10 at Iroquois Zone 2 and three other regional points topped $9 as prices in general continued to scream higher Tuesday. There was no denying the market’s fundamental weather support as freezing temperatures, often accompanied by icy precipitation, appeared to be setting up shop in the northern three-quarters of the U.S. and Canada for what could be a fairly lengthy stay.

Price Gains Still Strong But Shrinking, May Have Peaked

Strong cash price advances continued Tuesday, but there were signs that this week’s bull market may have just about run its course. The futures screen stayed positive for a while in the morning, but then later settled for a 12.6-cent loss that took it back to exactly where it had ended regular trading Friday. And unlike the previous couple of trading days where late quotes had moved sharply higher, cash prices were coming back off again near deadline Tuesday.

Southern California border quotes for swing gas peaked just shyof $7 Monday amid rising prices throughout the general market.Increases at non-border points ranged from about a nickel to 20cents, with most in the vicinity of a dime; however, the PG&Ecitygate went up a little more than 40 cents to around $5.90.
