Calgary-based Triangle Petroleum Corp. made a new joint venture agreement with Fayetteville Shale operating partner Houston-based Kerogen Resources Inc., the company said last week. The expanded joint-venture will build on the 20,000 net acres (34,000 gross) held in Conway, Pope and Faulkner counties, AR, where both companies now hold a 50% working interest.

Denver-based Gasco Energy gained a partner in its Riverbend Project in the Uinta Basin of Utah after privately held NFR Energy LLC agreed to participate in a 30-well program in return for an interest in some of the wells. Once the program is completed, NFR will earn 67% of Gasco’s interest in 1,200 gross acres.

San Diego-based Sempra Energy Monday announced it will partner its successful energy-metals trading business with Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in a complex deal in which each company will put in $1.30-1.35 billion. The joint venture will be called RBS Sempra Commodities LLP and expects to double its profits over the next five years with the UK-based bank taking over a majority interest and the day-to-day trading operations.
