Columbia Energy Group’s eight-month refrain of “wrong price,wrong time, wrong company,” referring to NiSource’s hostile tenderoffer, was unexpectedly altered yesterday to the more upbeat tuneof right price, right time, right company. Aftermarket Starts Out Above Index Levels

First-of-month swing prices were down from the weekend buthandily above February indexes Monday. As further proof that theaftermarket was getting off to a strong beginning, a marketerreported seeing Henry Hub swing swaps trading at $2.67 while thescreen was at $2.61. “That premium of 6 cents was very strong,” hesaid.

After raising its IT availability into the Zone 6-NYC pool to itshighest level in more than a month Tuesday (see Daily GPI, Jan. 11), Transco said that effectiveFriday there will be only about 25,000 dth/d of IT available throughthe Linden (NJ) Regulator Station and zero IT upstream of Station 90and on the Leidy Line for deliveries downstream of Centerville, NJ.

Taking a giant step toward successfully completing a 10-monthquest, Sempra Energy announced last week that the Nova ScotiaUtility and Review Board (URB) has said it will recommend SempraAtlantic Gas as the province’s first-ever gas distributor. Theprovincial government, which has the final say in the matter, saidit would issue a decision in the next three weeks.

Maritimes& Northeast Pipeline LLC informed FERC this week that both530/360 MMcf/d Canadian/US pipeline project (Phase II) and theSable Offshore Energy Project (SOEP), which will be the source ofsupply for the pipeline, will not be in service on schedule.
