Peco’s Exelon To Provide Real-Time Energy Info

Exelon Capital Partners, the energy services and marketing armof PECO Energy, and Orion Ltd., an international energy networkmanagement company, announced a partnership yesterday. The newcompany, called CIC Global, LLC, is an international technologycompany focused on providing real time energy and bill paymentinformation to residential and small commercial/industrialcustomers. CIC Global plans to reveal its products in Philadelphialater this year.

TriState Falls as Vector Picks Up the Pace

Vector Pipeline management was all smiles last week asconstruction on the pipeline kicked into high gear and one of itsmain competitors, CMS Gas Transmission & Storage Co.’s TriStatePipeline, halted efforts to pursue its application forconstruction. While TriState foundered, the Vector project, whichwould make 1 Bcf/d of transport available from western Canada toChicago, is on schedule to start service in October.

Nearly 500 MMcf/d of productionwill go on sale this spring, the MMS said. Details for the sale arestill being finalized.

Polaroid Corp. of Cambridge, MA, and Enron Energy Servicessigned a 10-year outsource agreement for Enron to provide energymanagement services at Polaroid’s seven major U.S. facilities. Thedeal is worth more than $200 million. Enron will manage or supplyPolaroid’s energy commodity requirements including electricity, gasand fuel oil; design, build, operate and finance certain energyinfrastructure improvement projects; as well as provide alloperation and maintenance services at Polaroid’s three centralmanufacturing plants in Massachusetts: Waltham, New Bedford andNorwood. “Enron will drive energy savings for Polaroid by managingtheir commodity usage, investing capital to upgrade or replacePolaroid’s energy equipment and by providing best in classoperation and maintenance services,” said Lou Pai, Enron EnergyServices CEO. Enron will offer positions to the 20 Polaroidemployees in the company’s Operation and Maintenance team.
