Reversing Early Losses, Bulls Make it Four in a Row

It was short but sweet for bulls in Wednesday’sholiday-abbreviated trading session as gas futures rebounded froman early and brief foray into negative territory to notch its 15thgain in 17 trading sessions. Adding to a $2.00-plus price spike offlows etched Oct. 31, December clawed 16.9 cents higher Wednesday toclose at $6.577. Meanwhile January finished up 15.2 cents at $6.584after posting a new all-time commodity high at $6.70.

As recently as last Friday whenprices carved out a $4.98 low, it appeared that bulls had turned intheir horns and donned their bear coats for the winter. And whynot? Storage injections were picking up, demand was light andtechnicals had turned negative. $4.50 here we come, right?

CA Prices Fall Hard; Other Points Make Slight Gains

Continued strength prevailed for most of the cash marketyesterday as prices at many points made small gains of 2-5 centswith one major exception: California. Cooler temperatures andforecasts for continued cool weather reduced power demandsignificantly and spot prices for gas at the southern borderplummeted another 15 cents.
