NuStar Logistics has reactivated and plans to operate its 60-mile Pettus South Pipeline to transport Eagle Ford crude oil to Corpus Christi, TX, part of its agreement with Koch Pipeline Co. LP, a subsidiary of Koch Industries Inc. The move will add 30,000 b/d of capacity to the Koch system, which totals about 540 miles in South Texas. In May 2010 Koch completed projects to expand its crude oil and gas condensates capacity by 25,000 b/d, then added another 50,000 b/d of crude and condensate capacity through an agreement with Arrowhead Pipeline LP in September 2010.

NuStar Logistics LP and Velocity Midstream Partners said they are developing a pipeline to transport west Eagle Ford Shale condensate from Velocity’s Gardendale Hub to NuStar’s North Beach Corpus Christi, TX terminal.

Velocity Midstream Partners has secured long-term commitments from Shell Western E&P for transportation and terminal services for light oil and condensate production from Shell’s position of more than 100,000 acres at the Harrison Ranch (also known as the Piloncillo Ranch) in the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas.

Looking to hammer out all of the environmental logistics prior to holding a 2011 oil and gas lease sale in what is expected to be the gas-rich North Aleutian Basin, the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Minerals Management Service (MMS) has contracted with Rutgers University, with the assistance of the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, to modify an ice-ocean circulation model for Alaska’s Bristol Bay.
