Oneok Partners LP is holding an open season through Dec. 17 for its 600-mile Bakken Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) Pipeline, which would transport unfractionated NGLs from the Bakken Shale in the Williston Basin to an interconnection with the partnership’s 50%-owned Overland Pass Pipeline in northern Colorado. The Bakken NGL Pipeline is under construction and is expected to be in service during the first quarter. In July Oneok said it would expand the project with additional pump stations in a project to be completed during the third quarter of 2014. Alberta’s Shale Natural Gas, Oil Potential Said to Be Colossal

Total volumes embedded in only the five Alberta shale deposits with “immediate potential” for development are colossal: 3,424 Tcf of natural gas, 58.6 billion bbl of gas liquids byproducts, and 423.6 billion bbl of oil, says a report by the resource appraisal group of Alberta’s Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB). Even the immense current estimates of the province’s total resource endowment could eventually turn out to be conservative, the board said.

NuStar Energy LP is buying Eagle Ford Shale crude oil pipeline, gathering and storage, and natural gas liquids (NGL) assets for $425 million from TexStar Midstream Services LP. The deal is part of NuStar’s transition to a fee-based pipeline and storage business and away from margin-based refining and marketing.
