Enterprise Tests Market for 10 Bcf Mont Belvieu Gas Storage Project

Enterprise Products Partners LP said Wednesday it’s planning to convert an existing natural gas liquids salt dome storage field in Mont Belvieu, TX, into a 10 Bcf natural gas storage operation. The project, which joins a rapidly growing list of domestic gas storage projects, would include pipeline interconnects with Enterprise Texas Pipeline, Enterprise Texas Intrastate (Channel), Kinder Morgan Texas Pipeline and Texas Eastern Transmission.

Enterprise Products Partners LP said Wednesday it’s planning to convert an existing natural gas liquids salt dome storage field in Mont Belvieu, TX, into a 10 Bcf natural gas storage operation. Mid-America Executes NGL Transport Agreements with Rockies Shippers

Mid-America Pipeline Co. LLC has executed long-term transportation agreements with all but one of its current shippers on the Rocky Mountain Pipeline system to transport natural gas liquids (NGL) from the Rockies to either the Hobbs, NM fractionator or to Mont Belvieu, TX, via the Seminole pipeline system. The agreements, for at least 10 years and up to 20 years, are expected to help expand NGL transportation from the growing Rockies’ basins.

Energen Locks in 2007-08 Hedge Positions

In an effort to lock in high commodity prices, Energen Corp. has increased its 2007 and 2008 hedge positions for natural gas, oil and natural gas liquids (NGL). The Birmingham, AL-based holding company said it sold New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) contracts and swaps on the output of its oil and natural gas development subsidiary Energen Resources Corp.

Canadian Utilities Limited, a division of Alberta-based ATCO Ltd., will examine “strategic alternatives” for its gas gathering and processing and natural gas liquids midstream business. Options include reorganization into a business trust or newly created company, sale to a third party or continued operation under the existing corporate structure, the company said. Canadian Utilities has retained advisers to assist it in considerations. ATCO has more than 7,000 employees engaged in power generation, utilities and global enterprises.
