SandRidge Energy will transfer a 13.2% interest in its Mississippian Lime play acreage in northern Oklahoma and southern Kansas to an affiliate of South Korean investment firm Atinum Partners Co. for $500 million, the Oklahoma City-based company said.

Kansas City, MO-based Inergy LP announced Tuesday that subsidiary Inergy Midstream has agreed to buy Tres Palacios Gas Storage LLC, owner of the Tres Palacios natural gas storage facility in Matagorda County, TX, from NGS Energy LP for $725 million plus reimbursement of certain capital expenditures and subject to customary net working capital adjustments.

South Dakota-based Black Hills Corp.’s natural gas utility operations in five states — Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska and Wyoming — are switching customers of Black Hills Energy to smart meters. Earlier in August the installation of new Itron advanced gas meters began.

With people in Canada and the northern half of the U.S. waking up Tuesday morning to temperatures in the vicinity of freezing or lower, and such conditions expected to continue through Wednesday for the most part, it was hardly surprising to see prices rising again Tuesday at a large majority of locations. However, a significant decline by November futures appears likely to nip this week’s cash rally in the bud.
