WPS Energy Services, Inc., a subsidiary of WPS Resources Corp., has started to inject gas into its new Kimball 27 Gas Storage facility in St Clair, MI. The 3 Bcf storage facility interconnects with ANR Pipeline, and through ANR has access to Michigan Consolidated Gas and Union’s Dawn Hub in Ontario. The facility also has access to both Great Lakes Gas Transmission and Vector Pipeline. “Michigan geology allowed for the cost-effective construction of this storage facility,” said Dan Verbanac, WPS Energy Services senior vice president. “The design of the system will allow for increased reliability and greater flexibility in meeting our customers’ peak day energy requirements.” More information on WPS Energy Services and this facility is available on the WPS Energy Services web site located at http://www.wpsenergy.com

El Paso declared an Unauthorized Overpull Penalty situationTuesday and said it will limit scheduled volumes at underperforminginterconnects to preserve system integrity. The pipeline alsopostponed pigging of Line 3201 in San Juan Basin (see Daily GPI,Dec. 19) by one more day to Dec. 28.

FERC has ruled the six-month suspension of Destin Pipeline Co.L.L.C.’s blanket certificate authority does not apply to theconstruction of interconnects for two projects currently beingbuilt in Mississippi.

Transportation Notes

During Sept. 7-11 maintenance on its Topock (AZ) Lateral andrelated facilities, Transwestern expects no flows to either SoCalGas or PG&E at their Topock interconnects. However, thepipeline said it is investigating “limited alternative deliveryarrangements” for the two points. It will be able to schedule up to300,000 MMBtu/d at Mojave Pipeline’s Topock interconnect.
