Plains All American Pipeline LP intends to pursue an initial public offering (IPO) of common units representing limited partner interests of PAA Natural Gas Storage LP (PNGS), a master limited partnership (MLP) subsidiary to be formed to own and operate its gas storage assets and business. Plains said it expects that a registration statement for IPO will be filed during the first quarter. Plains will own the 2% general partner interest and incentive distribution rights of PNGS and expects to retain “a substantial portion” of the MLP’s common and subordinated units. Plains anticipates using the proceeds of the IPO to repay debt and for general purposes.

Kitimat LNG Inks Third Deal to Export Canadian Gas

Signing its second agreement in just over a month, Kitimat LNG Inc. and energy multinational Gas Natural have reached a deal under which Gas Natural intends to acquire up to 30% of production from Kitimat LNG’s proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal in Bish Cove, BC. The deal also provides Gas Natural with an option to purchase an equity stake in the Kitimat LNG terminal.

Kitimat LNG Inks Third Deal to Export Canadian Gas

Signing its second agreement in just over a month, Kitimat LNG Inc. and energy multinational GAS NATURAL have reached a deal under which GAS NATURAL intends to acquire up to 30% of production from Kitimat LNG’s proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal in Bish Cove, BC. The deal also provides GAS NATURAL with an option to purchase an equity stake in the Kitimat LNG terminal.

Red Apple Group to Rescue SemGroup

John A. Catsimatidis, chairman of privately held Red Apple Group, announced last Monday he intends to develop a reorganization plan for SemGroup LP, also a privately held company in Tulsa, OK, that is a major oil and natural gas transportation and storage provider in the Midwest. SemGroup filed for bankruptcy in July, announcing it had sustained $3.2 billion in trading losses.
