Alternative Fuel Truck Center Opens in California

With strong incentives from both the public and private sectors, California stakeholders in the alternative transportation fuel space opened a new research center on Tuesday aimed at cutting fuel consumption in the trucking industry by 50% in the next 10 years. Obama Jobs Proposal to Include ‘Cash for Caulkers’ Legislation

President Obama last week called on Congress to provide incentives for consumers who retrofit their homes to become more energy efficient, “which we know creates jobs, saves money for families and reduces the pollution that threatens our environment.” One proposal would expand “select” initiatives in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to promote energy efficiency and clean energy jobs that have been proven “to be particularly popular and effective.”

Senate Panel Penalizes Producers to Fund Alternative Energy Incentives

The Senate Finance Committee Tuesday overwhelmingly passed an energy tax package that provides $28.5 billion in tax incentives for clean and alternative fuels, of which domestic oil and natural gas producers would pay more than $20 billion of the tab.
