Renewable Tax Credits Omitted from Stimulus Plan

SoCalGas Joins Desert-Based Energy Efficiency Team

In a program it hopes to replicate with other cities and utilities, Sempra Energy’s Southern California Gas Co. has committed up to $2.2 million in energy efficiency programs and services to the Palm Desert (CA) Demonstration Project for 2007-2008, with the possibility of more funds in subsequent years, the company said Tuesday. The program serves part of the energy-sensitive desert resort community about 120 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.

LADWP, Other CA Munis Poised to Move Gas Pre-Pay Deal

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) missed a special meeting Tuesday of its oversight board but hopes to get approval in the next few weeks for a public power consortium’s pre-paid natural gas supply contract. A source close to the arrangement that was brokered by a public power financing arm, the Southern California Public Power Authority (SCPPA), said LADWP is taking more time than previously anticipated to get the deal approved.

Transportation Notes

Dominion said it took Maxwell Station out of service Thursday morning for unexpected repairs and hopes to have the station back in service early next week. Production in bubbles 4401 and 3214 was required to shut in until further notice.
