ChevronTexaco Corp. on Wednesday announced the creation of ChevronTexaco Global Gas (CTGG), a new subsidiary that is expected to play a key role in ChevronTexaco’s strategic plans to commercialize its existing natural gas resource base and enable the creation and development of new natural gas growth opportunities worldwide.

AGL Resources Forms Unregulated Division Including Sequent

AGL Resources (AGLR) said that it has formed a new business division to lead its non-regulated subsidiaries. Called Sequent Diversified Business Group, the new unit will include the activities of Sequent Energy Management, AGL Networks and AGLR’s participation in SouthStar Energy Services LLC, the joint venture offering retail service under the Georgia Natural Gas brand.

NAESB Forms Two More Segments; Only Wholesale Electric Remains

Less than three months after the group was formed, the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) said Friday that its retail electric and retail gas quadrants have been approved following votes by the NAESB board of directors on Thursday. The two quadrants join the wholesale gas quadrant, which was created Jan. 1. NAESB, as the successor to the Gas Industry Standards Board (GISB), will develop standardized business practices for the retail and wholesale natural gas and electricity markets.

SCANA Forms Interstate Gas Unit, Announces Open Season

Columbia, SC-based SCANA Corp. has formed subsidiary SCG Pipeline Inc., which will concentrate on transporting natural gas in Georgia and South Carolina, transporting gas from interconnections with Southern Natural Gas and Southern LNG’s Elba Island liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal near Savannah, GA. SCG Pipeline also is now evaluating potential pipeline routes for an end point in Jasper County, SC, which is expected to begin commercial operations in November 2003.
