Petsec Buys Into Canadian Shale Oil

Petsec Energy Ltd. has agreed to pay 35% of the costs to drill at least one well and as many as three others in a shale oil project in Alberta in exchange for a 24.5% working interest in shale oil leases covering 17,280 acres, the Sydney, Australia-based independent said. The seller was not disclosed.

Encana Natural Gas Inc. has opened a compressed natural gas fueling station in Coushatta, LA, its first, to serve the company’s fleet of vehicles in Red River Parish. Starting next year the Encana Corp. subsidiary expects to offer the station’s fueling service to other corporate fleets in the region. The company said plans to open its next four natural gas fueling stations, one in each of the states of Wyoming and Colorado and two in Western Canada next year.

Report: Natural Gas Has a Role in Breaking Oil Dependence
