Dynegy Expands Natural Gas Agreements with ChevronTexaco

Dynegy Inc. announced on Wednesday that it has executed term sheets to expand and extend its commercial agreements with ChevronTexaco to purchase “substantially all” of legacy Texaco’s undedicated U.S. natural gas and natural gas liquids production through Aug. 31, 2006, increasing the ChevronTexaco volume of natural gas purchased by Dynegy by to 3 Bcf/d.

AGA May Extend Storage Surveys Until April

The American Gas Association currently is polling participants in its weekly storage survey to see if they will continue to cooperate with its survey through next April when the Energy Information Administration (EIA ) will take over the chore. AGA had initially announced in mid-October that it would publish its last survey on Jan. 2, 2002, and EIA followed up with an announcement last month that it would step in.

Williams Files to Build 400-Mile Western Frontier Pipe

Williams Gas Pipeline has filed an application for a new $365 million pipeline that would extend from the Cheyenne hub in northern Colorado to multiple pipeline interconnections in southwestern Kansas and the panhandle of Oklahoma. The Western Frontier Pipeline would consist of 400 miles of 30-inch diameter pipe and 30,000 horsepower of compression. It would transport up to 540,000 Dth/d of gas to markets in the Midcontinent.

Williams Extends Kern River Open Season

Williams said Wednesday it would extend the open season on its Kern River natural gas pipeline system through Sept. 18. The open season, originally set to end Wednesday, seeks binding commitments for seasonal and year-round firm backhaul transportation service from Kern River’s new interconnect near Elberta, UT with Questar Pipeline’s ML No. 104 Project to markets along the Wasatch Front that are upstream of the interconnect, which is scheduled to be completed Nov. 1.
