New Marketer Targeting Western United States

SCANA Energy Marketing is expanding its presence in the westernUnited States through a joint venture with Intermarket Trading Co.The two companies formed SCANA Energy Trading LLC to market gas andother energy related services in the West. SCANA Energy TradingLLC, will be a subsidiary of SCANA Energy Marketing and will serveas the company’s marketing vehicle for energy management, gas andretail electric services in California and other western states.

NIPSCO Expands Choice Program

Northern Indiana Public Service Co. (NIPSCO) announced it isexpanding its NIPSCO Choice program to an additional 32,000residential customers in the South Bend area this summer and willintroduce the program to Fort Wayne-area residents early next year.In addition, the number of commercial and small industrialcustomers eligible to choose alternate suppliers will increase to10,000.

TECO Expanding South Florida Distribution

TECO Energy gas utility Peoples Gas System, Florida’s largestretail gas distributor, announced plans to expand distributionservice to southwest Florida. Customers in the Lee County area,including Fort Myers and Cape Coral as well as Naples andsurrounding communities, will be able to buy natural gas for thefirst time.

Washington Gas Expands Customer Choice

Washington Gas is expanding its customer choice program inMaryland, targeting 100,000 residential customers or one-third ofthe total, and all of its 25,000 commercial customers in the state.The company said it received approval for the expansion from theMaryland Public Service Commission.
