ANR’s Open Season to Gauge Storage, Transport Needs

ANR Pipeline Co. is holding an open season through June 22 for incremental storage and transport services in response to recent customer requests for capacity in excess of its existing storage portfolio. Depending on the level of new capacity requested, ANR said it would expand existing storage and develop one or more new fields, all in Michigan.

Aquila Inc. tossed overboard a significant amount of excess baggage last Tuesday by exiting a power purchase agreement in Batesville, MS, and terminating another long-term prepaid natural gas supply contract. Both of the deals were a drain on liquidity and exiting them is part of the company’s ongoing repositioning program aimed at getting out of the merchant energy business.

Dynegy Brings In Accenture to Trim Back-Office Costs

Looking to trim excess costs across its key support functions, Dynegy Inc. on Friday entered into a multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement with Accenture. Under the agreement, the consulting firm will help Dynegy reduce costs beginning with the company’s information technology (IT), procurement, human resource and financial systems.
