The outage reduces normal San Juan Lateral capacity of850,000 MMBtu/d to about 580,000 MMBtu/d today and about 800,000MMBtu/d Thursday.

El Paso Natural Gas issued an emergency notice Monday, reportingthat the Bondad 2A turbine must be taken down to repair an oil leaktoday. The work will reduce the capacity of the station by 95MMcf/d. El Paso also said Line 1200 and 1201 are being “SmartPigged” this week on Sept. 19, 21 and 24, causing a reduction of 40MMcf/d of San Juan Basin capacity. An Abilene, TX natural gas liquids pipeline owned by ExxonMobilCorp. remained shut down Friday night after an explosion killed apolice detective who was first on the scene of the accident, sent awoman to the hospital and forced the evacuation of nearbyresidents.

EPA Investigating Nicor’s Mercury Disposal

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency plans to sit down withIllinois’ Nicor Gas officials this week to discuss how the companydisposes of its used gas regulators after investigators foundmercury contamination at a scrapyard used by the company. EPAalready has begun testing five Nicor service centers and otherscrapyards for mercury contamination.
