NOVA said late Monday it would declare force majeure due to a line leak on the 20-inch diameter Marten Hills Lateral (see Daily GPI, April 24). The line has been isolated, and typical flows of about 33.7 MMcf/d at three affected meter stations have been halted, the pipeline added. It projects that repairs will be completed Saturday, and pending further investigation, the service restriction will be lifted at that time.

Coastal Oregon LNG Project Eyes FERC Filing in June

A coastal Oregon liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal project that is married to a 230-mile 36-inch-diameter pipeline to carry the supplies elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest and to California expects to make a formal filing to FERC in June. Jordan Cover LNG and the Pacific Connector Pipeline LP have nearly completed the pre-filing phase of the environmental assessment, the LNG project manager told NGI Wednesday.

Transportation Notes

Southern Natural Gas said third-party damage caused an unscheduled outage on the 18-inch diameter South Pass Line offshore southeast Louisiana. Because of the outage, Southern is unable to accept nominations at the Main Pass 61A, Main Pass 61B and Main Pass 61B Buy Back points until further notice. In an update Monday, the pipeline said it is still developing a repair plan and the anticipated return to service date is unknown at this time.

Tennessee Completes ‘ConneXion’ Adding Storage Deliverability

Tennessee Gas Pipeline (TGP), a subsidiary of El Paso Corp., has placed its Northeast ConneXion NY/NJ Expansion project into service. The new infrastructure includes two 30-inch diameter pipeline loops, additional compression, and storage deliverability upgrades that will help meet growing demand in the New York and New Jersey areas.
