Atmos Acquires Largest Gas Utility In Mississippi

Atmos Energy Corp. has agreed to purchase Mississippi Valley Gas, the state’s largest gas utility, for $150 million. The definitive agreement calls for a $75 million cash deal, and another $75 million of Atmos common stock. Atmos also will assume Mississippi Valley’s outstanding debt, estimated to be $45 million. The deal will make the Dallas-based company the third-largest pure gas utility in the United States.

Atmos Energy to Acquire Storage Assets in Kentucky

Atmos Energy Corp. announced Tuesday it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire market area storage and associated pipeline facilities assets located in Kentucky from Kentucky Pipeline and Storage Company, Inc., an affiliate of WBI Holdings, Inc. Under the terms of the agreement, Atmos will purchase the assets for $13 million in cash. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval by the Kentucky Public Service Commission.
