Total to Sell LNG from Sabine Pass to Korea’s Kogas

Total Gas & Power Ltd. has signed a deal to sell to South Korea’s Korea Gas Corp. (Kogas) 0.7 million metric tons per year of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for 20 years from Cheniere Energy Partners LP’s Sabine Pass Liquefaction LNG export terminal in Louisiana. The LNG would be lifted following startup of the terminal’s third train, which is scheduled for commissioning in 2017, Total said.

Bonavista Adds to Canada Deep Basin Natural Gas Inventory

Calgary natural gas producer Bonavista Energy Corp. on Wednesday plans to expand its Western Canadian operations after announcing a deal that would double its land position in the Deep Basin and increase estimated output by 10% through a C$155 million agreement with an undisclosed company.

Phoenix, AZ-based solid waste operator Republic Services Inc. has signed a deal with a unit of California-based Clean Fuels Energy Corp. to take some of the renewable natural gas produced at a Tennessee landfill and use it as vehicle fuel in Republic’s expanding natural gas-powered fleet.

Rex Expands Ohio Utica Operations

Although keeping a lid on the details of the deal for now, Rex Energy Corp. said the Utica Shale joint venture it recently entered into with MFC Drilling Inc. and Abarta Oil & Gas Co. Inc. requires it to drill and complete one well and begin drilling two others by Nov. 15, and requires three additional wells each year until the company satisfies the carry obligation. The JV covers a three county region of eastern Ohio.

Halliburton Defers Some Pressure Pump Spending to 2013

Some of Halliburton Co.’s pressure pumping deliveries in North America originally planned for this year will be deferred to 2013 to deal with “inefficiencies” that followed onshore producers moving from dry natural gas plays to more liquids-rich regions, company executives said Wednesday.
