Seeking to coordinate more closely with other state stakeholders, Wyoming’s Office of State Lands and Investments decided to delay action on the state’s draft policy on natural gas flaring until January. That would put off action until the State Board of Lands Commissioners, which includes Gov. Matt Mead, meets next year.

Interior Named Lead Agency in New Senate Transmission Draft

The Department of Interior (DOI) will coordinate federal permitting and reviews of “high-priority” national electric transmission projects under a new draft bill that was released just hours before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee was to resume mark-up of its comprehensive energy legislation last Wednesday. But due to a series of Senate floor votes that were scheduled that day, the committee postponed mark-up of its new transmission title until this week.

Rule Implements EPAct Provisions Naming FERC as Lead Agency

FERC on Thursday issued a final rule that implements provisions of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPAct) giving the Commission the authority to coordinate the schedule of other federal and state agencies in processing natural gas pipeline, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and storage projects and to maintain a consolidated record of all agency decisions for use in judicial reviews.
