Former FERC Commissioner Suedeen Kelly has joined Patton Boggs LLP, the Washington, DC-based law firm said. Kelly, who served on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission during the Bush and Obama administrations (see Daily GPI, Sept. 22, 2009), joins the firm as a partner in its Washington office and will co-chair the firm’s energy industry practice. Kelly brings extensive experience in the federal government as well as in the electric and natural gas industries, the firm said.

FERC last Thursday approved several revised standards for business practices of interstate natural gas pipelines, which Commissioner Phillip Moeller acknowledged that while “maybe not glamorous are still essential to a safe and efficient pipeline operation.”
