ExxonMobil: Mica Subsea Project Producing 140 MMcf/d

Getting off to an early start, ExxonMobil Corp. said production has commenced nearly three months ahead of schedule from the Mica subsea development project in the Gulf of Mexico. Located about 100 miles south of Mobile Bay, the Mica field is estimated to contain approximately 100 million boe.

RMG Begins Coalbed Methane Drilling in Northeastern WY

U.S. Energy Corp. and Crested Corp. reported on Wednesday that their Rocky Mountain Gas Inc. (RMG) subsidiary has commenced drilling of developmental coalbed methane (CBM) wells on the company’s properties in the Powder River Basin in northeastern Wyoming. RMG currently holds 22 drilling permits on the properties and has surveyed and applied for an additional 32 permits within the project, the companies said.

Ultra Petroleum commenced in-fill drilling last week in theJonah Field, located in the Green River Basin of Wyoming. It gotthe go-ahead to start drilling on June 8 when the Bureau of LandManagement released an order for 22 new well locations, whichshould keep Ultra busy through 2001.

Transportation Note

Florida Gas Transmission reported completion of lowering its30-inch mainline at Station 7.5 in South Louisiana ahead ofschedule and has commenced lowering the 24-inch mainline. This workis expected to limit St. Landry volumes to 910 MMcf/d-65 MMcf/dbelow maximum-through April 10.
