BC Enviro Office Gives Initial OK to Proposed Kitimat LNG Facility

In the first step toward building a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal on British Columbia’s coastline, the BC Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) has approved a provincial environmental assessment certificate for Calgary-based Kitimat LNG Inc. to construct and operate a terminal in Bish Cove, about nine miles (14 kilometers) south of Kitimat.

Swift Estimates 3-6 Weeks for Hurricane Repairs, Loss of 3Q Production

Swift Energy Co. said repairs to its Louisiana coastline facilities, damaged in Hurricane Katrina, will take three to six weeks, depending on availability of supplies, equipment, parts — and personnel and contractors. The storm also will result in Swift deferring 2.75-3.25 Bcfe of production in the third quarter.
