ANR Pipeline Co. is holding a non-binding open season to test the Ohio market for additional transportation capacity needs to current and new delivery points in the western part of the state. Company officials said the project potentially would include new market laterals and expansion of existing system capacity from multiple supply areas.

ANR Pipeline Co. began a non-binding open season on Wednesday to determine customer interest in contracting for additional transportation capacity on its existing natural gas pipeline system to markets along the Lebanon Lateral in southwest Ohio. The open season will run through Oct. 11.

Petal Gas Storage LLC, a subsidiary of El Paso Energy Partners LP, said Thursday that it is holding a non-binding open season for up to 5 Bcf of firm natural gas storage capacity in order to evaluate market interest in proposed plans to expand its facility in Petal, MS. The capacity is anticipated to be available for use by Jan. 1, 2004.

Shell Gas & Power said last week it has entered into a binding precedent agreement to acquire all of the new capacity offered by Southern LNG in its recently concluded open season to expand its Elba Island liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal near Savannah, GA. San Jose, CA-based independent power company, Calpine Corp., Friday announced it has reached a binding agreement with Pacific Gas and Electric Co. to modify and assume all of Calpine’s Qualifying Facility (QF) contracts with PG&E, which means the utility accepts responsibility for $267 million in past-due billings it owes Calpine. The 11 contracts cover about 600 MW of power supplies.
