FERC Expects Filings for 14 Gulf Storage Projects by 2011

Due in part to the energy infrastructure damage and disruptions along the Gulf Coast in the aftermath of last year’s hurricanes, FERC anticipates that applications seeking to build 14 new natural gas storage projects will be filed over the next five years, the agency told Congress and the Bush administration Friday.

Canadian Gas Exports Show Continued Decline

The National Energy Board (NEB) reported last week that natural gas shipments from Canada to the United States fell sharply in October compared with a year earlier, continuing a trend forecast by analysts last year. For the first 10 months of 2003, gas exports were down 4.2%, to 3,550 Bcf versus 3,708 Bcf for the same period of 2002.

PanCanadian Files for Development of Deep Panuke

PanCanadian Energy Corp. Friday filed regulatory applications for development of the company’s 100%-owned Deep Panuke natural gas project off the coast of Nova Scotia, which is estimated to hold as much as 1 Tcf of recoverable gas.
