When Gov. Tom Corbett approved Act 13 last month, he gave county officials across the state 60 days to impose an annual fee on unconventional gas wells, or to opt-out. With five weeks until the April 14 deadline, almost all of the eligible counties are on the road toward imposing the fee, but the biggest potential hold-out also happens to be the most active county in the Marcellus Shale (see Daily GPI, Feb. 15).

Apache Deal More than Doubles Liquids Acreage in Anadarko Basin
Apache Corp. is picking up 254,000 net acres in the Granite Wash, Tonkawa, Cleveland and Marmaton plays in Oklahoma and Texas with estimated proved reserves of 71.5 million boe through a $2.85 billion deal to acquire privately held Cordillera Energy Partners III LLC, the Houston-based company said Monday.

Anadarko, Noble See Huge Liquids Potential in the Rockies
Land that Anadarko Petroleum Corp. has long controlled in northern Colorado in the Wattenberg Field holds a huge liquids-rich resource potential of 500 million to 1.5 billion boe net, executives disclosed this week. Separately, Noble Energy Inc., which controls 400,000 net acres in the play, said Tuesday it has identified 1.3 billion boe of net risked resources with the potential for even more.
