The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is asking the state Supreme Court to expedite its appeal of an appellate court ruling that said portions of Act 13, the state’s new omnibus Marcellus Shale law, are unconstitutional.

Range Resources Corp. is taking a southwestern Pennsylvania township to court over zoning in the Marcellus Shale.

A unit of S&T Bank has formed an alliance with Oklahoma-based Heritage Trust Co. to provide financial services for landowners who lease their property to natural gas drilling companies in the Marcellus Shale. In its first crackdown on fraudulent investment activities involving natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale, the Pennsylvania Securities Commission (PSC) on Thursday ordered an Allegheny County firm and its owner to stop selling unregistered securities in the state.
