Crosstex Energy L.P. To Construct $80M Texas Pipeline

Looking to get more natural gas to market, Dallas, TX-based Crosstex Energy L.P. announced that it has entered into agreements with producers in the Fort Worth Basin that would support a major pipeline project to bring Barnett Shale gas out of the basin. The proposed pipeline would feed into major pipelines that serve markets in Texas and the Midwestern and Eastern United States.

Cheniere Energy Selects Lead Banks For Sabine Pass LNG Project

Cheniere Energy Inc. announced that its wholly owned limited partnership, Sabine Pass LNG L.P. has signed agreements with HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. and SG Corporate & Investment Banking, an arm of Societe Generale, to arrange the $741 million debt component of the project financing for the construction of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving terminal in Cameron Parish, LA (see Daily GPI, Sept. 7).

Russian, Indonesian LNG Headed for Sempra, Shell’s Baja California Terminal

Sempra Energy reached two major agreements last week involving its proposed 1 Bcf/d liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal in Baja California Norte, Mexico. Sempra sold Shell International the rights to half of the capacity at the Energia Costa Azul terminal for 20 years and rights to half of any future expansion capacity. Sempra also reached a deal for 500 MMcf/d of LNG supply with BP Indonesia.

Calpine Corp. said Friday it has entered into two agreements to sell its Rocky Mountain natural gas reserves in the Colorado Piceance Basin and New Mexico San Juan Basin for approximately $223 million.

Dominion Expects Statoil to Take All of Proposed Pipeline Expansion Capacity

Dominion Transmission is expecting Statoil to sign agreements that will cover all of the capacity in two proposed pipeline projects designed to provide a summer storage alternative for Cove Point liquefied natural gas (LNG). Dominion is planning to add about 800 MMcf/d of new sendout capacity and another 6.8 Bcf of onsite LNG storage space to the Cove Point terminal on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.
