WP&L Inks Contract Extensions with ANR

Continuing to push its advantage as the main gas supplier inWisconsin, Coastal’s ANR Pipeline Co. announced last week thatAlliant Energy’s Wisconsin Power & Light Co. (WP&L) hasagreed to extend its transportation and storage service agreementsfrom 2000 and 2003 to 2003 and 2010, respectively. The PublicService Commission of Wisconsin (PSC-W) has approved theagreements. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Sempra Goes West for CA Market Presence

Sempra Energy Trading, formerly AIG Trading Corp, said itopened a satellite trading floor in San Diego to take advantage ofCalifornia’s deregulated market for electricity. The company’s WestCoast operation will initially have 19 employees. They willinterface with power scheduling operations of California’sIndependent System Operator (ISO) and work with Sempra’s East Coastoperations. Sempra is based in Greenwich, CT.
