Regency Energy Partners LP said it plans to expand its Dubach processing facility in North Louisiana to increase capacity to 210 MMcf/d by adding an incremental 70 MMcf/d of cryogenic capacity and 20 MMcf/d of Joule-Thomson capacity. “We have seen volumes at our Dubach facility continue to grow throughout the first half of 2012 due to increased drilling around our facilities,” said Chief Commercial Officer Jim Holotik. “This expansion will allow us to process new production from the area and provide more efficient liquids recovery across the facility.” The $75 million expansion, expected to come online in the second quarter of 2013, is to include construction of high-pressure gathering lines to bring production to the facility. The project is backed by fee-based contracts and an acreage dedication, Regency said.

Northeast, California Lead Broad Advance; Futures Seen Still Higher

The cash market continued its broad, upward trajectory Monday, adding on average about 6 cents. Particularly strong were Northeast points and Southern California. Northeast gains were expected to subside Tuesday, but California pricing is following strong power generation demand. At the close of futures trading August had gained 3.6 cents to $3.117 and September had put on 3.5 cents to $3.111. September crude oil tumbled $3.69 to $88.14/ bbl.

Sunoco Deal Gives ETP Heavier Hydrocarbons, Marcellus Presence

Energy Transfer Partners LP (ETP) is buying Sunoco Inc. for $5.3 billion in a deal intended to diversify the natural gas midstream player’s business by adding transport of heavier hydrocarbons such as crude oil, natural gas liquids (NGL) and refined products. Acquisition of Philadelphia-based Sunoco would also give Dallas-based ETP assets in the Marcellus Shale region.
