Cardinal Midstream LLC has brought a third cryogenic gas processing plant online in the Arkoma Woodford Shale, and it now has 220 MMcf/d of operated cryogenic processing capacity in the Oklahoma play. The new Tupelo Plant in Coal County, OK, is capable of processing 120 MMcf/d. Cardinal’s Coalgate Plant, an 80 MMcf/d facility, is adjacent to Tupelo, and the Atoka Plant in Atoka County, has a capacity of 20 MMcf/d. Cardinal Midstream President R. Mack Lawrence said the company was expanding its gathering system and “evaluating further processing capacity expansions given the level of drilling activity on dedicated acreage and the quality and production volume we’re seeing from the rich gas wells in the play.”

Dry Gas Bargain in the Barnett Gets Investor Attention

Investors apparently approved of Philadelphia-based Atlas Resource Partners LP’s deal to acquire 277 Bcfe of proved reserves, including undeveloped drilling locations, in the Barnett Shale from Carrizo Oil & Gas. Atlas shares closed up 32% Friday following the deal’s announcement.

Pennsylvania Portion of Marcellus Production Jumps 41% in Late 2011

Individual operators reported record-breaking production from the Marcellus Shale in 2011, producing more than 1 Tcf from the Pennsylvania portion of the play, according to new Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) data.

Plains All American Planning Mississippi Lime Pipeline

Plains All American Pipeline (PAA) plans to build a 170-mile pipeline between Alfalfa County, OK, and its Cushing, OK, storage facility to service increasing Mississippi Lime crude oil production in northern Oklahoma and southern Kansas, the Houston-based company said.

Magnum Hunter, Stone Partner in West Virginia

Magnum Hunter Resources Corp and Stone Energy Corp. said Monday they plan to jointly develop Marcellus Shale acreage in West Virginia. Separately Stone agreed to commit its share of output from the contract area to a Magnum Hunter pipeline subsidiary.

Elected officials in Cecil Township, PA, voted unanimously on Monday to adopt changes to two of its ordinances governing Marcellus Shale development but are still waiting to hear if Range Resources Corp. will drop a lawsuit it filed against them in October over the changes.
