There should be a comfortable natural gas supply and demand balance through 2011 in the Pacific Northwest, according to the latest consensus regional outlook published by the Northwest Gas Association, a trade organization of nine major interstate pipelines and distribution utilities in Idaho, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia.

Maine Governor Proposes Regional Gas Conservation Initiative to Cut Demand 5% by 2011

Maine Gov. John Baldacci has proposed a regional natural gas conservation effort with a goal of cutting gas consumption by 5% by 2011. Baldacci sent a letter last week to the governors of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont proposing a joint conservation initiative with a targeted 1% reduction per year in gas consumption in each of the states.
