Calgary-based Suncor Energy Inc. announced plans Monday to sell its wind and solar power assets to shift the focus of its environmental products division to renewable fuels and hydrogen.

“We are adjusting our portfolio for fit and focus,” President Mark Little said. 

No target date and no  asking prices were announced for divesting the green power interests owned by the major oilsands producer..

Suncor has 75 wind turbines in Alberta, Ontario and Saskatchewan with a combined generation capacity of  111 MW. Another 45 turbines, capable of 200 MW, are under construction in southeastern Alberta. A 220 MW Alberta solar power project also was being considered..
