Renewable Fuel Standard was originally created by the U.S. Congress in 2005, and was amended into its current form in 2007. This policy mandates the blending of biofuels into transportation fuels like gasoline and diesel in order to reach a percentage content threshold level as established by the Renewable Volume Obligation.
