Calgary-based Precision Drilling Corp., whose oilfield expertise is concentrated in North America, is anticipating “a sustained period of elevated natural gas drilling activity” in advance of the sooner-than-later wave of LNG export facilities, both in Canada and the Lower 48.

CEO Kevin Neveu discussed the third results and the forecast for the year ahead during a conference call.

“Natural gas has demonstrated short-term price weaknesses,” he noted. However, more North American liquefied natural gas export projects are scheduled to come online in 2025, including the Shell plc-led LNG Canada project in British Columbia.
