Citing the low cost of natural gas, a New Jersey utility is providing an additional bill credit to its customers.

Residential and small commercial customers of New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), the principal subsidiary of New Jersey Resources (NJR), can look forward to an additional bill credit of $12.5 million in January. With the previous bill credit of $10 million that went into effect Dec. 1, this brings the total to $22.5 million over the two-month period.

For average residential customers using 197 therms, this one-time bill credit would save them $24.03, or 11.3% of their usual bill in January, according to NJNG. Adding this to the $10 million in December, customers can save $43.34 over the two-month period.
