A continued onslaught of exceptional December warmth and production strength saw natural gas futures grind lower in early trading Tuesday.

After shedding 15.0 cents in Monday’s session, the January Nymex contract was down another 3.2 cents to $2.399/MMBtu at around 8:46 a.m. ET. February was off 3.9 cents to $2.311.

Bearish weather headwinds continued heading into Tuesday’s trading, though EBW Analytics Group analyst Eli Rubin highlighted the potential for prices to “finally” find a bottom in the short term.
