March Nymex natural gas futures ended nearly unchanged on the plus side in the week’s opening session as the market locked onto near-term weather forecasts for mild conditions ahead of an expected blast of mid-February cold.

The front-month contract settled at $2.082/MMBtu, less than 1.0 cent above the prior trading day’s settlement after falling as low as $2.041 and moving as high as $2.127 in intraday trade.

NGI’s Spot Natural Gas Avg. gained 19.5 cents to $2.290. Stormy weather across major portions of the U.S. supported widespread regional average price gains.
