With the rights to more than 10,000 acres of land in West Texas, Milestone Carbon is eyeing a carbon sequestration hub to serve industrial emitters in the Permian Basin.

The carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) hub would be built in the southwestern corner of the Midland sub-basin in Upton and Midland counties, according to the Milestone Environmental Services subsidiary. 

“The site spans parts of both Midland and Upton counties with the potential to support multiple wells” that could permanently store carbon dioxide (CO2) from exploration and production (E&P) companies and heavy industry, officials noted.
