Mexico’s natural gas production averaged 4.1 Bcf/d in July, up from 4.04 Bcf/d in June and 3.86 Bcf/d in July 2021, according to the latest figures from upstream regulator Comisión Nacional de Hidrocarburos (CNH).

The figure represents the third straight sequential increase for monthly gas output in the country.

State oil company Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) produced 3.86 Bcf/d, up from 3.67 Bcf/d in the year-ago month.

Gas output from private operators averaged 236 MMcf/d, up from 192 MMcf/d in July 2021. The top five producing fields, all operated by Pemex, were Quesqui (514 MMcf/d), Ixachi (303 MMcf/d), Maloob (294 MMcf/d), Akal (256 MMcf/d) and Onel (194 MMcf/d).
