Oklahoma City-based LSB Industries Inc. is taking initial steps to bring carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) to its natural gas-fed chemicals producing plant with Cresta Fund Management LLC-backed Lapis Energy.

Lapis, a carbon management company, plans to fund 100% of the capital and operations expenditures to develop the CCS project at LSB’s El Dorado, AR, facility, an LSB spokesperson told NGI. 

The El Dorado location converts natural gas feedstock into several industrial and mining products, in addition to agricultural products such as high density ammonium nitrate and ammonia for fertilizer.
