Spot natural gas prices tumbled during the April 10-14 trading week as warmth spread across most of the country, limiting natural gas demand for heating and cooling. NGI’s Weekly Spot Gas National Avg. fell 29.5 cents to $2.210/MMBtu.

Natural gas futures prices also softened given stubbornly strong production and robust storage inventories following a mild winter. After briefly slipping below the $2.00 mark, the May Nymex gas futures contract settled Friday at $2.114, down 5.8 cents from Monday’s closing price.
